Can we get a house with (a bigger) library, please?

We're in the middle of sorting and cataloguing and re-shelving all our books.

So far we've done mass market fiction paperbacks whose authors start with the letter A. So no non-fiction, no oversize paperbacks, no trade paperbacks, no hardbacks, and nothing from the other 25 letters of the alphabet. (And no Trek/Star Wars, either.)

170 of them, 3.5 metres, and that's after removing 8 duplicates.

I can see this may take some time - going on this basis, we may have about 4,000 in total.

oh ghods. I do feel your pain. (3,958 books, according to the database.)

I get to sort through to fit them on 4 31" Billys and 3 15" ditto. (It's a *small* apartment). Then, deciding which get stored and which kept.

84 cartons to go... want it done by early December.

Ouch. I'm way behind, then, with just over 1200 books in total (well, there might be some children's books and such in a box or two at my parents place, but I don't count them).

You're almost halfway to my dads collection, though. :-)

A isn't nearly as wellrepresented in my collection, I've got at most 25 non-fiction books on A that could be of that size.
