I read the second book in the trilogy first (without realising it was a trilogy) and then read the first while in Canada and I'm part way through the third now so it will form my #1 for 2006 when I finally finish it.
I like having these books on the go, they last me a long time with the 20 minutes on the train here and 10 minutes in bed there that I get to read them in. It feels like looking in on another, interesting, world and when I've not got one of these Baroque books on the go I feel a little bereft. So I'm not rushing this last one.
I am, however, suffering from the 'Shardik' effect in that I can't remember much about the first two anymore because so many words have passed under the bridge since them!
