Conversation with a colleague

"No, I mostly play Horde."

Hmm.

And he has a Horde Warrior on Kul Tiras. I can see a whole new business meeting coming on.

/me ponders.... would having 4 different characters on the same server be overkill? (I have 3 atm, because I can't decide which I prefer - this isn't counting Korenwolf's - called "Korenwolf" btw *g* - or the two D is running)

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
4 different characters?

Have you spoken to [livejournal.com profile] gmh over the number he has on Earthen Ring? I swear he's half the guild on his own.

[identity profile] bellinghwoman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
Ah we wondered if it was him - both [livejournal.com profile] gmh and I tried whispering him but got no response, so we assumed we'd made a mistake.

[identity profile] bellinghwoman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Just to clarify - this was on Earthen Ring.

[identity profile] megabitch.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
*nod* He probably didn't notice - I'm only just noticing when a /whisper or other directed action appears bottom left (one of my characters is apparently now a founding/charter member of "Two gnomes and a peanut" - somebody cried at her until she gave in and said she'd sign but that she reserved the right to quit immediately and wasn't interested in group quests just yet *g*)

[identity profile] korenwolf.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup I'm still developing the extra eyes I need to track the text boxes. korenwolf is the name, mining, selling and killing things that move is the game.

[identity profile] gmh.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
Only 4? *g*

Ask Jen about my 11 on Earthen Ring, most of whom are 60 or above, and 10 of whom are in one guild.

(As she says, it keeps me out of trouble.)

And since I've got pretty much every profession covered to 300, I can churn out the advanced crafting recipes by passing components from one alt to another.

"Here, children, we see the next stage in WoW Bots - this one can actually post to LJ as well. We expect the following generation to come close to passing the Turing Test."

Professions make for gibbering wrecks. After discovering the shiny BoP tailoring things, I took my mage from 1 to 338 tailoring last night, in the space of about four hours. The third tailor I've made, but the first to go past 300. I'm starting to hate cloth.

I think the only profession I've not had is blacksmithing, but soon my warrior will have that. Assuming I don't go mad.

I'm also on Kul Tiras, btw. What this horde warrior's name? :)

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't a clue, yet.

(He apparently has a whole bunch - his main is a Priest over on Wildhammer.)

[identity profile] megabitch.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. This was why the third one was created (the first one has skinning and leatherworking, the second has herbalism and alchemy, so I wanted one to do mining - but not blacksmith or engineering as D's is an engineer and Korenwolf's is a blacksmith - to cover all the gathering trades) that one also does tailoring... why do I think I may end up with as many as you have? :)

I knew this would happen... I shall have to cancel my Shockwave Unlimted subscription - I haven't used their games since we installed WoW :/

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Tanakka is a miner/jewelcrafter, which seems to work fairly well.

Kiiroi does skinning/leatherwork, which is fairly sensible for a Shaman who thus gets to make stuff for herself and for Tanakka. On the other hand, now they can both wear mail, maybe she should think about a career change. Enchanting, perhaps.

[identity profile] gmh.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Something the guild is short on at the moment is a dragonscale leatherworker - Siyara's a tribal LW and Boggis is an elemental LW - and the dragonscale recipes are all mail, so you might find LW right up your street in the long term.

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, good point.

(Now what a dragonscale leatherworker actually is is something I can find out some other time.)

Hmm, I guess I'll need a Salt Shaker sooner or later.

And I've got the levels to start the quest sequence for Dragonscale (level 43, skill 230+). Hmmm. Azshara, here I come.

[identity profile] gmh.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess I'll need a Salt Shaker sooner or later.

Engineering gadget; I'll make one and shove it in the post this evening.

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Good grief - I've just checked some of the prerequisites for the quest sequence. And ouch!

I can see that sequence taking some weeks. Scorpid Scale, heh.

[identity profile] gmh.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Boggis may have a few spare scales knocking around; we might be able to help you along a bit with that quest.

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd not seen any at all, either in the wild, or in the AH. I had wondered at the latter.

To a certain extent, just making the items for the quest will increase my crafting skills. But I would like to know where to get the scales. Tanaris, by any chance?

[identity profile] gmh.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Tanaris is the best place; low-ish level scorpids and plenty of them; also the Blasted Lands and the Burning Steppes.

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha. The scorpids in Desolace certainly weren't dropping any.

I was off in the Hinterlands this morning hunting Silvermane wolves, and was happy to be able to take two on at once without hurting too much. I was mostly up there because I was dropping in on the LW trainer, having been up to the Alteracs to see Catelyn's Dad in the Stone of Tides sequence.

[identity profile] bellinghwoman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
having been up to the Alteracs to see Catelyn's Dad in the Stone of Tides sequence

I'd better catch up before you get home then :-)

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2007-03-22 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a fly up there, talk to someone, fly back sort of quest. Not exactly something that requires any fighting (unless you go wolf hunting as a side line, that is).

Bear in mind that tomorrow, I'm not going to be in much state for WoW
