Hmmm ...
On the way back from Strawberry Fair this afternoon, we dropped in to Bacchanalia on Victoria Avenue. What a nice little Wine Merchant - a proprietor who knows and is enthusiastic about his stock, and who knows his customers (we overheard one customer asking "Have I tried this before", to which the reply was "Well, not for a while").Oh, and very dangerous stock he has, too. I bought a delightful bottle of Alsatian Gewürztraminer - Clos Saint Imer, as in the picture to the right, except it was the Gewurtz, not the Riesling, and 14%, not 13%.
Utter heaven. Although at £17.99 it wasn't cheap, it was a real treat, and it's worth spending that sort of money occasionally just to give your normal purchases some context.
