Anothe Eee PC has launched

The new S101 appears to be quite a machine. A kilo in weight, under an inch thick, a decent number of USB ports, and a reasonable 10" screen.

Oh, and 16GB or bigger SSD.

How long before the MacBook Lite is presented, do you reckon?

I've been sorely tempted to get an Eee or another small one, but I can't really justify it since the laptop I bought last year was picked for size and weight (a Rock Pegasus 335), so I can't really argue that what I have is far too big and heavy to lug around. :-/

Why would Apple undercut their own market?

They own 20% of the US laptop market by units shipped, but over 33% of it by value sold. A netbook that would cost half as much as a Macbook would potentially cannibalize some of those Macbook sales ...

PS: I boycott Tesco, for the simple reason that I Do Not Approve of large corporations who use libel law to stop journalists from talking about their shady business practices.

There's a branch of Tesco mere walking distance from his ([livejournal.com profile] silly_swordsman's) house. The next nearest large supermarket is possibly the one 10 miles away, in Baldock.

It's also a Tesco.

Choice? We've heard of it.
