It wasn't Hunter in disguise, was it? Sounds almost like one of his stories... except the woman wasn't thrown to the ground by security and held until the police arrived because only violent terrorists buy quiche by the slice.

That's typical Tesco for you - but before it reached the Telegraph the story originated in the Mail and gives no other witnesses, and I get the feeling that once Cameron's in Number 10, the Mail will suddenly start believing that all this nannying is A Good Thing.

Perhaps, though, the story is in fact a little bit of Art Terrorism. The quiche woman appears to be this Christine Cuddihy of Falmouth College.

I don't believe that for a second so I suspect that means 'we think she made it up but don't think it is good PR to say so'

It would be trivial to identify the cashier from the information provided.
