Apologies

For those who may have been expecting to see us this weekend, my apologies. But I had a bad cold (what women often refer to as 'flu), and had no desire to inflict it on all you lot.

With luck, next weekend should be sniffle free.

I gave up smoking due to the 'flu once.

Same here. I spent two weeks in bed. Then mom took me out for a day's "fresh air" (and Bingo!{shudder}) and we smoked. I returned to my sick bed for another two weeks and then never smoked for another eight years.

As the doctor said at the time when I complained it was "only 'flu" - "Don't underestimate it. It can kill you."
