Getting high Down Under

Last night, at [livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_'s suggestion, we went up the Eureka tower, where the observation deck is a pretty impressive 88 floors up. The view from up there is stunning, reaching all the way to Tasmania ... okay, the other side of Philips Bay.

And then down, dodging the rain showers to the best steak I ever expect to eat at Rockpool.

We're now awaiting the coach to Avalon whence we will fly up to Sydney for tonight.

On Wagyu beef

I said that the steak I had last night was the best I'd ever had. I just checked, and discovered that Fullblood Wagyu is what Kobe beef is. Cooked properly, it is going to be as good as it gets.

(Fullblood is another term for pedigree, since it appears most Wagyu are crossbred.)
