Sold out?

Talk about selling fast.

I just paid for two tickets to ISIHAC, at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.

Tickets went on sale at 10:00

I remembered at about 10:10

By the time I actually got through on the web site, the best seats I could get (and I wanted 2 together) were in row UU. That's pretty well near the back, and that was at 10:20.

We still can't get through, probably way too late now :-/

You might be lucky yet.

<fx: phone rings>

Indeed, you are lucky. It turns out that these tickers, the which I have now paid for, are now spare, so if you and [livejournal.com profile] songster would like them, you can buy them off me.

Blimey. HRH is sorting it all out - have poked him to speak to you.

Hope it's nothing bad that's cropped up.

[identity profile] songster.livejournal.com 2010-05-19 09:48 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. I've managed to get two singletons in random sections of the hall, but I know at least four people that want to go, so if your two are definitely spare I'd love to take them off your hands.

[identity profile] songster.livejournal.com 2010-05-19 09:52 am (UTC)(link)
... no confirmation emails for the ones I got. I think their systems are a touch overloaded.

We can wait a day or two for the dust to settle, and then sort it out, but I'll note that they have your mark on them. £18 the pair, UU16 and UU17.

Just to confirm we'd definitely like to take these off your hands :-)

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2010-05-21 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
As soon as I've got my sticky hands on them (they're currently at the box office).

[identity profile] songster.livejournal.com 2010-06-22 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, so what's the plan here? Probably a bit late to trust them to the post - should we meet up before the show and hand them over?

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
That does seem like the best plan, yes. 30 minutes before the show, outside the Corn Exchange entrance.

(We have to get our tickets off Ruth, too.)

To confirm

We shall be outside the Corn Exchange this evening at 19:00.

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2010-06-29 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
OK!

[identity profile] bellinghman.livejournal.com 2010-05-19 09:54 am (UTC)(link)
No, far from it, it's that, unknown to me, [livejournal.com profile] uitlander was standing outside the box office at 09:45, and she bought some tickets, of which two are for [livejournal.com profile] bellinghwoman and me. So the ones I bought are now spare, and you two have first refusal if you haven't get any yourselves.

([livejournal.com profile] uitlander mentioned it to us last night at the Andy Hamilton gig, which was the first we heard about it.)

Since the ones she got came free when someone's web browser session dropped, it's possible that you might have ended up getting tickets after all. The site was slow as pitch at 10:10, and I expect that more than one session will have crashed, leaving tickets returning to the pool after the 15 minute timeouts.

Thankfully, no. [livejournal.com profile] uitlander (with whom we went to see Andy Hamilton last night) managed to get tickets for all of us, So see you in the foyer :-)

We have AA 7-10 in the balcony. Hopefully being in the front row the view will be reasonably good.

One of my friends posted this:

"I got through on the website 15 minutes after the tickets went on sale. By 24 minutes after they went on sale they were all gone."

It would appear that ISIHAC is still popular!

Oh yes!
