All kudos to UPS

Who, on being given a change of delivery address, didn't wait till tomorrow morning for the redelivery attempt, but called up the driver and told him to drop by.

New shiny now plugged in and charging.

They are good at that sort of thing. I've had <15 minutes between delivery of a replacement battery to reception here at work, me installing the new battery in my laptop and putting the old battery in return box, and the guy coming back and picking up the return package.

The downside is I tend to get stung for custom charges by them more than any other courier.

What is your new shiny by the way?

Creative Zen Vision:W 60GB.

Quite why an MP3 player wants to provide a contacts address book as an application, I don't know.

So it knows who you are to tell the MPAA about all that music you've STOLEN, and who you're friends are so it tell the MPAA you've given copies of all your music to them.

Luckily for you the MPAA are a bit like information retrieval in Brazil, so they'll be off arresting David Bellamy by mistake.

Mwahahaha!

Actually, yes, what a lovely idea. Confess all the stolen music to the MPAA, and the ripped off movies to the RIAA. Then watch them collide with each other as they attempt to victimise each other's pirates.

Everything going onto this is stuff off CDs stored in the attic. Oh, and photos. Lots and *lots* of photos - much of the rationale for this is the ability to plug my CF cards into it and copy the photos I'll be expecting to take in Japan onto it. With 40GB of spare capacity, and a much larger screen on it than the camera has, it should keep me going for the fortnight.

UPS really have their shit together.
Once I ordered pickup in London, finished taping the box together and walked 3 floors down to the entrance. The UPS driver was not quite tapping his foot waiting for the parcel he had been told to pick up.
After that I made sure the parcels I was having picked up were at the reception desk strictly before I called UPS, not almost the same time...
