...and don't forget the Home Tree - standing it's Teldrassil, fallen it's Grizzlemaw. Also, the Na'vi reminded me of the Draenei.

Purple? Sort of blue with purple bits. So, check(ish)

Affinity with animals? Check.

They're obviously Night Elf Druids/Hunters, not Draenei Shamans.

IIRC, it was generally agreed around the launch of BC that Draenei are essentially Minbari (even down to the space connections, the accent and the prophetic leader called V(ae)len.
