Kitties

For those who follow me, but not [livejournal.com profile] bellinghwoman, here is her set of pictures of the Kitties

Last night (their second with us) we gave them freer run of the house. Saki decided that burrowing under the duvet with us was a good idea - this appears to be something imprinted into the DNA of Abbies. Toto is somewhat less brave than his sister and didn't do so, but the pair were to be found on the covers this morning.

They definitely approve of the main staircase, which has a narrow ledge outside the bannisters along the upper landing such that when the stairs bend through 180 degrees, this ledge provides a perch above the lower steps from where they can see into the hallway and kitchen. It's an ideal place for them to sit and watch the world.

Stairs, as we all know, are provided solely for the amusement and convenience of cats. They will doubtless soon discover the joys of playing 'trip the human'. According to Mooncat, that one never grows old.

Oh yes. And the other favourite in this household is batting at people from between the bannisters. 24 hours in the house, and Saki was already beginning to do this.

Obligatory "awwwwww" - they're adorable. (Kittens, though? Better you guys than me, I don't have the spoons to deal with kitten energy! :) )

One thing about having a pair is that a lot of that energy gets used in playing with each other.

*grin* Indeed. But even so, I think I'm stuck with adopting older rescue kittehs - Hannah is the fourth, now. (Also, this place is a) tiny, and b) low income housing, with all sorts of rules, including "only one cat or small dog". Makes sense, really...)
