It's the 23rd day of January. And for 21 of those days I know it rained.

I don't know that it didn't rain on either of the other two days, I only don't have evidence that it did.

Pretty please, can we stop with all this liquid falling from the skies?

You'd prefer solids? The temperature only needs to drop 5-6 degrees for that.

Actually, yes. I put sodding winter tyres on the car this year for the very first time, and I want to know there was a point!

Oh, nice. They make a huge difference on snow, but the downside is they wear down faster than summer tyres on asphalt. I assume they're not studded?

No, no studded. They do have a lot of very small slits in the surface.

And I plan to have them off at the end of March.

It would be nice!

Right now, I look out the window ahead of me and I see fluffy clouds scudding along the horizon. It's when I look out the window beside me I can see some black cloud obscuring the sun. But at least right now there's some blue sky, even if it was raining medium hard a few hours ago.

I don't think it has rained anything like that much here...

ps I really really don't want snow..

It is rather odd. Cambridge is in the driest part of the UK, and normally has an appreciably lower annual precipitation than the western parts of the kingdom of Jordan. If we'd wanted rain, we'd be in Manchester. Or your country.

Pretty pretty please, can you just channel it over here instead? We have drought. Gardens don't like drought...

I'm sorry, I don't have your address. On the other hand you know where we live, so you could pop over and collect it.
