Chasing delivery men

So I ordered some kit from Scan, and again failed to check the delivery address before confirming the order.

What this means is that yesterday morning, Citylink tried to deliver a parcel to our home and, of course, I wasn't there to receive it. Citylink attempt delivery twice before you have to go collect it from their depot. Their depot, in this case, being 45 minutes drive away (they have one in Cambridge, but because Royston is (just) in Herts, they use the Herts depot!).

This morning, I hung around at home till about 10:15, but as I had a meeting scheduled for 11, I couldn't stay all morning. So I decided to use the route through the middle of town, hoping I'd catch sight of the van. Happily, it was in the town centre, so I hauled up onto the pavement (on a double yellow) behind it, and waited for the driver to return.

Well, he wouldn't just hand the parcel over on the street even though I had the failed-delivery card with me, but it didn't take much to persuade him to pop round to our house and deliver it to me there.

Next time, I need to get them to deliver to me at work.
