orkut disappeared

Has anyone else been having a certain amount of difficulty getting through to orkut today. I notice from their whois record that they updated the record this morning - I've not been able to get through either from home or from work today.

Hmm, some screwup, perhaps?

In the end, I've gone via the IP address I pulled off the primary name server, while the system sorts itself out and the changes propagate.

(I will ignore the shock I got later discovering that a certain Irish fan turns out to share my birthday. As in the original one, not the yearly anniversary (some redundancy, there).)
