10 year itch (with apologies to
korenwolf)
May. 3rd, 2005 11:17 amWe went out to a local Indian restaurant last night, the
bellinghwoman and I.
The meal was extremely nice (as expected - the life expectancy of a sub-par restaurant in Royston is probably measurable in weeks). But it was the conversation that amused both of us.
At one point, the
bellinghwoman said "We never did hear back from them, did we?"
And I replied "No, we didn't, did we?"
The amusing thing about this is that we knew exactly who we were talking about, we'd not talked about 'them' in weeks, and that opening comment didn't mention who 'they' were at all - it was just a tangential bounce from another subject entirely.
It's time for a change.
