Oops!

I seem to have accidentally ordered two copies of Jo Walton's excellent book Half a Crown.

One from Amazon US, one from Amazon UK.

And the second has just arrived, a few hours after I finished reading the first copy.

I think my mother may be getting it for Christmas. There is much scope here for evilness, given some character naming.

Question about CDs

Is one supposed to be able to see through a CD? I'm not talking about the centre hole, of course, but about the main playing area.

I've a pair here, just arrived, which seem to creep out my CD player on the later tracks. I find it deeply suspicious that if I hold the CD up to my screen, I can actually read through it where some of the printing is. If white light can go through, I can't see laser red being reflected.
