Holiday booked

It's the start of a new holiday year. Well, yesterday effectively was.

So today has seen half our department frantically getting time off booked. I've managed to arrange things with the person who deputises for me, and despite requiring something like the first half of August off, have achieved my goal (said deputy's wife is a teacher, and they have kids, so school holidays are relevant).

What was also interesting was to note that the previous company policy saying 'take it or lose it' seems to be slightly in abeyance: I have been credited with the days I failed to take off last year.
