English literature professor Roy Arthre, from a sketchily-drawn future in which, horror of horrors, students at his university are now being allowed to graduate without having studied literature (whatever next, maybe they'll be allowed not to be fluent in Latin?), is drawn into an alternate world, where he is taken to be the returned Archmage, needed in the battle against the totally evil ... oh, I give up.

This is a first novel, by 'D&D®game fan Michael C. Staudinger'. Ummm. And the publisher is TSR Books. Since this is the only item listed on Amazon against this author, I have to assume that no sequel ever turned up, which is possibly just as well as I, for one, would not buy it. (Actually, I don't think I bought this one either.)

There's a term for this. It's known as Extruded Fantasy Product.

So, no point in cataloguing this one, then?

That's up to you - I don't think it's one of mine.
