I'm feeling definitely chuffed today.

Firstly, the Lords have rejected the ID card plan.

Secondly, something that I quoted as taking 2-4 days of my time, at 16:00, did in fact take 2 hours, mainly because all the changes I was expecting to have to do turned out to be very localised indeed.

Of course not. It just makes up a bit for those times when I've horribly overshot an estimate.

Isn't that the normal method of working out projected timescales? How long will it really take.. multiply by two, move to the next unit of measure. Therefore one hour of work is estimated as two days.

That's how we do it, as long as it's something we don't already know exactly how to do it. Quite often it seems to take just that long, too.
