The takeover will see Porsche, a family-owned manufacturer of about 100,000 luxury cars a year, own the world's third-largest carmaker, which makes five million vehicles a year.
Does this mean that Audi owners will stop wincing when people say 'But it's really a VW' and start replying 'Actually, it's really a Porsche'?

Date: 2009-01-06 01:33 pm (UTC)One interesting point is that Porsche are being required to make an offer for Scania trucks. But since they don't want to be associated with anything quite that industrial, they're making the minimum permitted bid.
