Does this mean that Audi owners will stop wincing when people say 'But it's really a VW' and start replying 'Actually, it's really a Porsche'?

So Porsche will own VW which owns Audi which owns Lambourghini? And Porsche will also own Skoda?

Yes.

One interesting point is that Porsche are being required to make an offer for Scania trucks. But since they don't want to be associated with anything quite that industrial, they're making the minimum permitted bid.

I know a number of people who still refer to a 911 as a Beetle.

Oh, well, perhaps Porsche will sell the VW name while retaining the assets? Like when VW bought the Rolls Royce assets, but BMW got the Rolls Royce name.
