The postie left a delivery card yesterday. That's not a problem, of course, it just means I need to drop into the sorting office.

(Given that it is merely days before my birthday, I was wondering what it might be.)

I parked in my usual space in the car park at work, and walked to the sorting office building on one side.

Ah, OK. It's a tasting box from Hotel Chocolat. Who are on the other side of the car park, and whose entrance is actually slightly closer to the car than the sorting office's. Ah well.

I'd put a temporary stop on the tasting club, while on the diet. But it looks like the temporary stop has expired, so I'll need to reset it.

How's that going? I'm feeling all self-righteous because I haven't deviated even one tiny little bit from mine in the two weeks that I've been on it. Tuesday night (end of Day 12) I was down 10.5 pounds. Official weekly weigh-in is tonight.

Still OK. The Christmas party period is pretty well over, and I'm mostly back on the wagon. Last Saturday's housewarming was a bit of a mistake, costing a couple of days.

I'm about 50 pounds down so far. (Says he, converting out of imperial units into neo-imperial ones.) Not as much per day as you've managed so far, but (restating the obvious) that first week is the one where you do lose a lot, and the second and subsequent ones are when you see the long term rates.

What's nice is that, being so much lighter, walking distances is much, much easier. And I have much more bounce when not carrying around a full rucksack worth of extra weight (a well distributed extra weight, but extra anyway). I could stop now and feel that I'd done well, but I'd really prefer to get below the 'overweight' band while I'm at it.

The difficult bit at the end will be not going back onto the grazing behaviour that so easily puts the pounds back on.

I'm aiming to do more than that. I don't want to be skinny, but I would like to be at the lower end of my BMI scale, if only to allow for the fact that once I stop, some of it is liable to creep back on. The good thing about LL is the counselling to help you learn why you overeat in the first place. I have managed to resist in all of the social situations that I have been presented with so far, but this isn't to say that I won't ever give in to temptation. I'm just taking one day at a time and keeping my eyes on the goal. I have really been surprised at how much of my eating was just boredom, stress, or just plain habit. I hope that I am able to address food differently in the future, eating only when I am hungry and only until I am full, and making healthier food choices overall.

"only until I am full,"

And 'full' meaning no longer empty, not the stomach stretching repleteness of a complete Christmas dinner, too.

Mine arrived yesterday - I'd had it on 6 monthly after himself got made redundant but shifted it to 8 weekly just before Xmyth. I need to contact them and tell them I don't want the "special" selection next time instead of the standard one (the special one has stuff in that I don't like :/ ).
