This is a themed anthology of short stories. The theme? A response to the idiocies of the UK Terrorism Act of 2006, when it was made an offence to 'glorify terrorism'. Well, the government obviously forgot to inform the Americans among us, who have carried on celebrating the 4th of July on our shores - no longer merely tactless, now against the law. Or not, because one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, and that makes the Act one of the dumbest and most stupid laws to be in force since the abolition of the blasphemy laws (what do you mean, those are still there too?).

There's a good selection of stories here, some by writers I already know, some by friends and some by writers I'd not previously heard of (though one turns out to be a friend under a pen name). And [livejournal.com profile] feorag did production work. Inevitably, not all of these are to my taste, and the theme almost inevitably leads to a certain sameness on occasion. It's a collection meant to make one think rather than merely to entertain. So, somewhat pointed, shall we say?
