Sugar cubes

Well, I have the absinthe, and the absinthe glass and spoon, the latter being probably the most specialised culinary implement in the house.

I have absinthe, spoon and sugar cubes but no special glass...

I'm out of absinthe (oh noes!) and I won't buy a new spoon. I want to find a suitably old and previously used one.

I'm looking at that and thinking "I'd just spill the sodding absinthe all over the table trying to pour it onto that spoon."

Isn't it silly!

Hey, it was free gift from the local wine shop. We were in there chatting to Kirby behind the till, and I was buying the English Whisky Co. Chapter 6 and a couple of bottles of wine, when I noticed they did mini bottles of absinthe. When I commented on them, she tried to sell me one. On finding that I already had a bottle, she dug out the box containing the glass and spoon from behind some full sized bottles and gave it to me.

(She's also put me on the mailing list to be told next time they get some properly aged German Rieslings.)

I meant to say, a while back when you talked about going to see the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain... my favourite is their cover of Wuthering Heights. Just made me laugh the first time I heard it and now I can only "hear" their version in my mind when I think of the song :)
