Read autopope's collection of short stories Toast.

I had some very very strange dreams as a result. Lovecraft mixed with Orwell, mixed with the Singularity.

(Apropos of skiffy tropes, did anyone else notice Belle de Jour referring to "doing situps from now to the singularity"?)

An excellent book, even if it's not up to his later standards.
