Roads: Both Severn Crossings were closed when ice began falling from the top of bridge structures onto cars and smashing windscreens.

Umm, yeah.
Here, a colleague coming in this morning got to within a mile of here before giving up, turning round and going home again. It's been alternating between snow and sleet, and was falling quite thickly at 9:00 (easily obscuring a car windscreen in 10 minutes flat), but is currently is falling as a light fine powder.

Date: 2009-02-06 02:40 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, I had been promised a lie-in in order to be fresh for today's interview, and the subsequent shouting and jubilation woke me up quite thoroughly. On the other hand, a couple of the engineers who were going to interview me didn't make it to work today, so it's been postponed to some time next week.
