Badges designed, printed, guillotined, folded, laminated, punched, sorted and packed.

ETA: I should point out that the largest portion of this work was done by [livejournal.com profile] bellinghwoman, who did all the guillotine, folding and punching work.

Here.
(About 90 minutes ago actually, eaten something and just turned the PC on.)

And yes, I will say again that your assistance in this matter has been greatly appreciated.

We like to feel we're contributing. On the other hand, [livejournal.com profile] bellinghwoman seriously needs to actually attend the con, rather than to work her socks off behind the scenes.

*wist*

Though some of my bookmarks may be available for sale at the same dealer's table as last time, my share of the proceeds going to the con charities. (Must make bookmarks today and mail them tomorrow...) (Aiee, these last-minute Bright Ideas(TM). :) )

Woohoo!

Can I change my badge name now? ;)

Certainly.

(But why you should be unhappy with what your badge currently says, I dunno. Admittedly, the lettering is a little on the small side, what with the 250 characters, but I do think it admirably describes you.)

You got the description down to 250 characters? Wow... impressive compression method.

It was the executive summary.

The delta is looking to be small at the moment and I'm closing membership for all changes on Friday, final change list will happen then :)

Right.

The Friday deadline makes sense if you're doing envelope label printing then for the stuffing the following day. A handful of extra badges will take almost no time at all, compared to the ~1300 done yesterday (800 members, and loads of generics for gophers, watch, etc.).

In theory, you could keep membership open almost to the very end if you were prepared to do the main bulk of the envelopes on Saturday, and do any extra by hand. But there's little point in doing so, and you do need to finalise membership some time, just so you have things like complete lists for the voodoo board and the like.

That's my logic, and to be frank the chances of anyone being able to get themselves organised in the remaining week and a bit is "minimal" given the number of "sorry can't come now"'s I've had from the waiting list.

It's actually a lot less work than back in the days when the badges were round 'pin-to-your-lapel' types. The first DWCon involved us making those damned things for the best part of a fortnight.

The current badges are prettier, too, what with colour inkjets.

Dang, I always forget about this get-together. It's the bi-annualism probably.

Membership closed back in March, too.

Whether there'll be one in two years time is, even more than usual, up in the air, but I'd hope there will be, even if Terry is unable to commit.

Can you point to some essential details, e.g. price and accommodation costs, as the dwcon website just says "membership closed" at the moment? Thanks.

Drop me a line (membership@dwcon.org) and I'll feed you all the gory details.

As [livejournal.com profile] korenwolf says, if you happened to be able to organise yourself in time, you could get to this year's. He's had a few cancellations.
